Fundraising Swim for Cancer Research: Making Waves Against Cancer
In a world where life is constantly on the move, it’s essential to take a step back, reflect, and give back to those in need. That’s precisely what Zoe Harrison, Rentancy’s property manager, is doing this November. Along with two close friends, she will do a fundraising swim for cancer research—a cause that’s close to the hearts of many.
UPDATE 27 Nov: Zoe, Daniel and Emily completed the 10k challenge this morning! They have raised £940 for cancer research so far. There is still a few days left to get £60 more to make this an incredible £1000!
The Personal Motivation Behind the Fundraising Swim

Zoe Harrison – Rentancy’s Property Manager
Zoe Harrison shares her motivation behind this inspiring endeavor:
“I have teamed up with two friends to complete a 10k fundraising swim for cancer research in November. Most people I know have been affected by cancer, but most recently, our friend who is swimming with me lost his sister in May this year after 2 weeks of being diagnosed. She had two young children, and it hit the family hard.
I personally will be swimming in her memory as well as my grandad, who we lost last year. He was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and, due to this, was not able to recognize the fact he also had cancer. By the time it was detected, it had spread too fast for him to fight.”
A Cause Close to Our Hearts
Cancer, an insidious disease that affects millions worldwide, has touched the lives of countless individuals, including Zoe and her friends. The impact of this disease is far-reaching, affecting not only the person diagnosed but also their loved ones. It’s a battle that requires immense strength, support, and resources.
Honoring Memories, Supporting the Cause
For Zoe, the 10k fundraising swim is not just a physical challenge. It’s a heartfelt tribute to those she has lost to cancer and Alzheimer’s. It’s an opportunity to remember their lives, honor their memories, and support the cause that could potentially prevent others from suffering the same fate.
“Cancer research is a charity close to everyone,” Zoe emphasizes. “I hope that the three of us swimming can spread the word and raise some money to help those in need.”
Making a Difference, One Stroke at a Time
Every stroke in that 10-kilometer fundraising swim for cancer research is a testament to the strength of the human spirit and the unwavering determination to make a difference. The funds raised from this endeavor will contribute to the ongoing battle against cancer. Supporting research that leads to breakthroughs in prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.
Join and Support the Cause
Zoe’s commitment to this cause is truly commendable, and her dedication reflects Rentancy’s values of giving back to the community.
Hannah Smart, Rentancy’s Head of Property Management, say:
“Zoe, my husband Daniel, and our friend Emily are doing a 10k fundraising swim for Cancer Research throughout November. We would be grateful for any donations, as every £1 raised goes to Cancer Research.”
